At Tru-Marine, we believe that creating a positive impact extends beyond the industries we serve. As part of our commitment to giving back to the communities around us, we are honoured to join TORM in supporting a meaningful initiative that will provide a safer learning environment for children in the Philippines.
Through our contribution, Tru-Marine is supporting the construction of an elevated, disaster-resilient classroom at Jagoliao Elementary School on Jagoliao Island, Bohol, Philippines.
Home to a community of more than 1,000 residents and over 200 students, Jagoliao Island faces regular flooding during high tides, with seawater partially submerging classrooms and disrupting lessons. The elevated classroom is designed to address these challenges by providing a safer and more resilient learning environment where students can continue their education with fewer interruptions.
This initiative builds on TORM’s continued support for the Jagoliao Island community since 2021 through donations of solar panels and essential school equipment, which continue to benefit the school and its residents today. Tru-Marine is proud to contribute to this latest project, reflecting a shared commitment to supporting education, strengthening community resilience, and creating a positive, lasting impact.
